Emerging from the deepest depths of the darkest sea, "The Octopus" can now be unleashed onto your desk to help you multi task like never before. He's a bit spooky at first glance, but you'll soon realize his softer side and grow to love him. He's prone to jealously and sometimes a bit "clingy." But take wonder in his ability to clean up your spills, organize your paperclips and protect your precious diary or computer equipment.
BONUS! This gremlin has a secret slot that you can cut to add a unique "charm" to your paper model!
Fun Zone -- Activities for parents and kids! "The Octopus" is lots of fun when you add unique "charms" to the paper model. You can take this one step further by turning this papercraft into a unique "frame" to hold those wallet-sized school photos of your closest friends resulting in a very unique display!
I'd also like to suggest using sea creatures as a wonderful subject for "drawing time" with young children. All you have to do is take a piece of paper and draw a wiggly line at the top and tell the child to draw something cool under the surface of the water. It's amazing how just the sight of that waterline will get the imagination rolling -- wonderful fish, beautiful colorful coral and wild submarines of every shape and size.
Can't get enough of the wonders of the sea? Recently, I saw the movie from master animator and filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki named Ponyo and I highly recommend that you do the same. If you've got young kids or if you're just young at heart, you owe it to yourself to see this stunning film, bursting at the seams with wonderful undersea life. (I am so thankful that U.S. audiences are finally getting to know the work of Miyazaki. We have John Lasseter from Pixar/Disney to thank for this as he is one of Miyazaki's greatest supporters in the states.) So buy or rent a copy of Ponyo
on DVD, perch The Octopus papercraft on top of your TV and get ready for an inspirational journey into anime, animation and pure art that will knock your socks (or tentacles) off!
